Modding is a process
... the location hunting without GPS gimmicks.
Published on April 1, 2009 By Zyxpsilon In Everything Else

1- You need Google Earth to participate.

2- The location must belong to your own past, work, vacation... absolutely no OBVIOUS personal details.

2a- Or as stated from May additional rules ; Where do you wish to go in the future, for vacations, Historical places, Museums, Wonders... for a quick visit. Anything for any reasons. Hints & Locations unlimited.

3- To earn the right of submitting the next clue for yourself, you MUST identify the buildings_city_address (etc) of the currently unknown place to the person who linked the image. Once confirmed, you win the right for #4 below.

4- You must provide "easy or not" hints for your own. I'd highly recommend Time Zones, minimum.

5- Altitude must not exceed 1km or below 250m. (Mine is at 303 meters)

6- Don't forget to hide the coordinates from us, bottom left!

Here's the first;

I worked on the 15th floor of that skyscraper as a financial advisor from May 75 to October 77. The red arrow points to my office window.

-5GMT.

Where is it? Street & number.

Mount Pleasant Dr, Singapore.

Want the exact street number for that particular house?

on May 02, 2009

Of course. Not gonna make it EASY.   If there IS one, that is..... it shows up on a search for the location, by my version at least doesn't have it easily listed... I'll check back when I learn if it's even possible.

Actually, considering that I couldn't find the house number on the web and I knew the number, I'm going to let you go with just the street. Confirmed as 27 Mount Pleasant Drive, Singapore, Singapore, and awaiting next hunt.

That house number wasn't available here either!

Now, i think it's time for a twist of basic principles for this thread.

We got some of the "personal" stuff out of the way... here are the new rules for the upcoming hunts;

-- Where do you wish to go in the future, for vacations, etc.

-- Historical places, Museums, Wonders... for a quick visit.

-- Anything for any reasons. Hints & Locations unlimited.

-- Still 250m to 1km altitude gaps and insert any "symbolic" tags you think might help participants or not!

Example; You'd snap a Google image of the Gizeh plateau in Egypt and ask who's buried in the bigger Pyramid, when the construction happened, etc.

Next hunt image, probably tomorrow - i need time to think it over.

on May 07, 2009

This looks interesting....

Samurye.

on May 10, 2009

Another hint perhaps?

The Atom.

on May 10, 2009

Bikini Atoll? Bikini Island? Atomic bomb testing? US government? '46-58'? Just throwing ideas around here....

Samurye.

on May 10, 2009

I had to remove Google Earth from my system awhile back, (Didn't play well with a couple of my proggies) but I must concur with Samurye. I believe this to be Bikini.

The runway is clearly visible, but has been abandoned for long enough for palm trees to reach maturity. There are other clues also; like the obvious clearing of the beach for settlement, and subsequent abandonment and regrowth showing now. There is also the encroachment of trees into the large lawn/park area, as well as the man made geometry of the plantings of coconut there.

Wrong! For the exact location, the who and the when was the last test or even, some relative period of activities.

One last hint perhaps... Polynesia? - but, that's like giving it away to whom will be first to the RIGHT atoll.

You now got it VERY easy.

Sorry, Mistralok...

1- You need Google Earth to participate.
