Modding is a process
... the location hunting without GPS gimmicks.
Published on April 1, 2009 By Zyxpsilon In Everything Else

1- You need Google Earth to participate.

2- The location must belong to your own past, work, vacation... absolutely no OBVIOUS personal details.

2a- Or as stated from May additional rules ; Where do you wish to go in the future, for vacations, Historical places, Museums, Wonders... for a quick visit. Anything for any reasons. Hints & Locations unlimited.

3- To earn the right of submitting the next clue for yourself, you MUST identify the buildings_city_address (etc) of the currently unknown place to the person who linked the image. Once confirmed, you win the right for #4 below.

4- You must provide "easy or not" hints for your own. I'd highly recommend Time Zones, minimum.

5- Altitude must not exceed 1km or below 250m. (Mine is at 303 meters)

6- Don't forget to hide the coordinates from us, bottom left!

Here's the first;

I worked on the 15th floor of that skyscraper as a financial advisor from May 75 to October 77. The red arrow points to my office window.

-5GMT.

Where is it? Street & number.

South-East of Vanavana, maybe?

on May 21, 2009

Something weird happened there...

Where, what, when & by Who?

on May 21, 2009

Island of Moruroa. From 1966 to 1996, it was used as a nuclear weapons test site by the French military. After widespread protest of their arial tests, they moved them underground. However, there are cracks in the ground that could allow material to escape.

Oops, sorry.

Samurye.

on May 21, 2009

He did, actually.

on May 21, 2009

Congrats, you've got the next hunt, scoutdog.

(Samurye, since the page was switched - i figured people didn't want to be bothered searching for the *current* reference image posted 18 days ago...)

Have to go to school now. Location in about 7 hours

Here we are:

GE2

A popular television host in the news/entertainment/opinion business works here. Who is he, what channel is he on, and who does he work for? If you turn on that channel at 8:00 EST, you will no doubt here him ranting about a specific group of people. Who are they? Which particular individual does he always pick on, and what name does he call them?

on May 23, 2009

ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN?

on May 23, 2009

NBC, after a fashion.....

on May 23, 2009

I'll simply leave this to any US members who watch Dateline and can name the host while trying to guess if the Republican Party is his favorite target. The only building i saw worth 3D rendering in New York city back in 1984 was the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts, anyway. Not that the chopper ride over Liberty island wasn't fun either.

on May 23, 2009

Not Dateline...... I don't actually know if his show is carried in Canada.

on May 29, 2009

Here, just for sarcasm & irony...

Rush Limbaugh, EIB, for Himself, President Commender in Chief Barack Obama, Democrats.

That's what i thought, most American GC2 players don't watch TeeVee and also hate politics when it doesn't match with their personal egocentric opinions.

This thread was going soooooo well, i'll bet summer time vacations are more important than final school results in some cases anyway.

on May 29, 2009

Ummm..... not quite. So close, and yet so far away. To the left (because it would be awefully hard to go to the right).

on Jun 11, 2009

Toughest hunt yet... unless, nobody else cares to participate from outside the USofA which limits this thread to what - a few members willing to get a *DESERVED* karma point simply by having watched the proper TeeVee channel to provide three easy answers.

Bumped to gain attention on the NY_NBC building might do the trick.

Videotron carries their signal in Montreal, but i doubt i'll ever switch National Geographic, History, Discovery or Space for anything else but CNN to get other quicky summaries of made in America news. I might even cancel cable altogether bored that i am with continual pub stunts which i shouldn't be forced to pay for. At that rate, they'll progressively lose audience.

Pay-per-view "gimmicks" will simply put information or leisure out of reach soon.

Seed misery, recolt anger. By subscribers, i must add.

Hey, they just announced Fiat-Chrysler partnership is "legally" approved; since when, Law has to scrutinize some privately managed economic issues? As i recall, free-market(s) ideology has always been pushed on International tables to fail or succeed. Kinda, makes one thinking about who's (or will be, btw) profiting the most from tuning in at the right time. Or has been, strangely.

Wish you were here; a single GM plant was shut down years ago, in Québec. Call it the Great lakes hegemony ratio.

After this slight interruption, do you want to give up Scoutdog or change the pic for another?
